Q: I think my school qualifies for a refill of EPIPEN (epinephrine injection, USP) or EPIPEN JR (epinephrine injection, USP) Auto-Injectors. How can I confirm?
A: Schools participating in the EPIPEN4SCHOOLS program qualify for the four free EPIPEN (epinephrine injection, USP) or EPIPEN JR (epinephrine injection, USP) Auto-Injectors each calendar year. Should you have additional questions, please contact BioRidge Customer Service at info@bioridgepharma.com or 973-845-7600. Schools may receive the authorized generic versions of EPIPEN and EPIPEN JR.
Q: If our school used our previously supplied free product to respond to an anaphylactic episode in our school, can we replace or replenish the product?
A: Yes. In the event that the free supply is used to respond to an anaphylactic episode, you are eligible to receive a replenishment order of EPIPEN (epinephrine injection, USP) or EPIPEN JR (epinephrine injection, USP) Auto-Injectors prior to your annual eligibility date at no additional cost. A valid prescription is required to receive a replenishment order. If your school does not have refills on your current prescription, a new prescription is necessary to replenish the product.
If you are interested in obtaining a replenishment order, fill out the replenishment order certification form found here.
Q: How can I apply for a replenishment order?
A: To apply, the contact for your school should complete the electronic replenishment form found here. As part of the process, your contact must certify that he/she is providing true and accurate information regarding the anaphylactic episode. A valid prescription is required to receive a replenishment order. If your school does not have refills on your current prescription, a new prescription is necessary to replenish the product.
Q: What if I cannot provide the information required to apply for the replenishment order?
A: Please contact BioRidge Pharma at 973-845-7600 or info@bioridgepharma.com with any questions related to the ordering process.
Q: What will I receive in my replenishment order?
A: Replenishment will vary based on the information provided as part of the order. If you are applying for a replenishment order, you are required to confirm how many EPIPEN (epinephrine injection, USP) or EPIPEN JR (epinephrine injection, USP) Auto-Injectors were used to respond to the anaphylactic episode. Viatris will replace the product that was used. For example, if one or two EPIPEN Auto-Injectors were used, your school will receive one EPIPEN 2-PAK, which consists of two EPIPEN Auto-Injectors. If more than two EPIPEN Auto-Injectors were used, you will receive two EPIPEN 2-PAK cartons.
Note, more than two doses of epinephrine for a single anaphylactic episode should only be given under direct medical supervision.
Q: Do EPIPEN (epinephrine injection, USP) and EPIPEN JR (epinephrine injection, USP) Auto-Injectors expire? If so, what should we do with expired product?
A: Your EPIPEN or EPIPEN JR has an expiration date. Replace it before the expiration date. Throw away (dispose of) expired, unwanted, or unused EPIPEN and EPIPEN JR in an FDA-cleared sharps disposal container. Do not throw away the EPIPEN or EPIPEN JR in your household trash. If you do not have an FDA-cleared sharps disposal container, you may use a household container that is:
- Made of heavy-duty plastic,
- Can be closed with a tight-fitting, puncture-resistant lid, without sharps being able to come out,
- Upright and stable during use,
- Leak-resistant, and
- Properly labeled to warn of hazardous waste inside the container.
When your sharps disposal container is almost full, you will need to follow your community guidelines for the right way to dispose of your sharps disposal container. There may be state or local laws about how you should throw away used needles and syringes. For more information about safe sharps disposal, and for specific information about sharps disposal in the state that you live in, go to the FDA’s website at:
